St. Therese of Lisieux, the Little Flower, is a Doctor of the Church. She is patroness of our Semi-Province and is also patroness of missionaries. Her feast day on October 1st is celebrated as a solemnity by Carmelite communities. Well known and much loved all over the world, people from all walks of life and across generations venerate her and ask for her intercession.

The Discalced Carmelite Friars are a community of men – priests and religious brothers – serving the Church through a life of contemplative prayer. In our apostolic work, we also strive to foster growth in the spiritual life, helping women and men to grow in friendship with God and with neighbor.
