Discalced Carmelite Friars

Semi Province of St. Therese

New Triennium
(2020 - 2023)

The Office of the Provincial announces new assignments for the 2020-2023 triennium. New community assignments will be in effect by August 1.

The Discalced Carmelites of the Province of St. Thérèse celebrated the XXXI provincial chapter in the city of Dallas, Texas from May 25 to June 5. A Provincial Chapter takes place every three years and during Chapter meetings the friars evaluate all the aspects of their vocation as Discalced Carmelites.

As mendicant friars they are supposed to move from community to community every three years. It is true that here in our Semi-Province they have not been able to do so every triennium because of their small numbers. However, this triennium most of them are going to make a change. Summer for us here in the Semi-Province will be a time of transition. There will be a lot of changes in the lives of our communities and parishes. Please keep all the friars in your prayers as they begin their new assignments.
